The vision for this weekend retreat was to create a space that seamlessly blends social areas with intimate moments, all while respecting the community's building guidelines and preserving the natural landscape.
The design centres around two private blocks, thoughtfully positioned in parallel at either end of the site, providing privacy for both the owners and their guests. At the heart of the retreat stands a grand social block, positioned perpendicularly, becoming the focal point of the entire complex.
The gable roofs, integrated into the design, not only lend a distinct identity to the house but also define its most prominent volumes, achieving a harmonious balance across the entire composition. Embracing the site's unique requirements, where over half of the roofs were required to have a minimum 33º pitch, we transformed this constraint into a design opportunity, enhancing the aesthetic value of the project.
This architectural piece unfolds as a series of interconnected volumes that open generously through expansive sliding doors, maintaining a constant connection to the captivating outdoors. Carefully positioned internal voids allow lush greenery and abundant natural light to flood the interior, creating an ever-present link between the built environment and the surrounding natural world.
The result is a weekend retreat like no other, where contemporary elegance meets peaceful seclusion.
